Coffeyville Regional Medical Centers Marketing Team Receives Three Awards for Excellence in Advertising

The Marketing Department at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center has recently been recognized for excellence in advertising by the Marketing Healthcare Today Magazine and Creative Images, Inc. and the Kansas Association of Health Care Communicators (KAHCC).

CRMC has an award-winning website! The Aster Awards, one of the largest, most respected national competitions of its kind, is hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today Magazine and Creative Images, Inc. This elite program has recognized outstanding healthcare professionals for excellence in their advertising/marketing efforts for over 17 years.

The 2018 Aster Awards received thousands of entries from across the United States as well as several foreign countries. All entries are reviewed by a panel of industry experts and are scored on multiple criteria with a possibility of 100 percent. Participant’s entries compete against similar-sized organizations in their specific groups and categories.

Awards were issued for entries that received top marks from judges placing them in the top 16% of the nation for advertising excellence. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.

CRMC was awarded the “Silver Award” – scoring in the top 12% in the nation. “This is a great honor for our team”, said Melissa Summer, Director of Communication and Government Relations. “Our goal with our new website was for it to be user-friendly, include the information people are looking for, include great health information, and showcase our services and people.”

In April, the Marketing team at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center was the recipient of an “Emerald Award” from the Kansas Association of Health Care Communicators (KAHCC) for their Women’s Health Retreat event that was held last fall as part of their Women & Wellness program.

Annually, KAHCC hosts their spring conference for members and Emerald Awards Luncheon. The Emerald Awards recognize excellence in healthcare advertising, events, communications and marketing/foundation projects. There are 11 categories and the entries are judged based on:
• Planning and research
• Implementation
• Cost effectiveness
• Evaluation/Results
• Overall Impression

The “Emerald” is the highest award given by KAHCC. The team also received a “Merit Award” for the hospitals Health Partners magazine. Judge comments on the magazine include: “it’s very impressive this magazine is produced in-house – very personal, professional, and unique”.

“Creating powerful and effective marketing is a passion. And what makes it so great for us is that we get to tell the story of our hospital and the people that make it so wonderful”, Summer said. “Our hospital and services are second to none. My family and I wouldn’t go anywhere else but here for our healthcare. What a talented group of professionals.”
