Brian Lawrence, MHA
President & Chief Executive Officer

Brian Lawrence is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Coffeyville Regional Medical Center (CRMC), a 25-bed non-profit, critical access hospital in southeast Kansas. With a deep passion for protecting and expanding rural healthcare, Brian is committed to ensuring that CRMC remains a vital healthcare provider for the region for years to come. His vision for the future of CRMC focuses not only on maintaining high-quality care but also on expanding services to meet the evolving needs of the community. Brian’s leadership is driven by his strong belief in servant leadership and his dedication to developing internal leaders. He fosters a culture where employees feel valued and empowered, creating a workplace where people want to build their careers and contribute to the hospital’s mission. Under his leadership, CRMC strives for operational excellence and innovation, ensuring that the hospital can continue to provide the best care possible to the communities it serves.

With over 20 years of healthcare experience, including roles in hospital administration, business development, marketing, physician relations, and human resources, Brian brings a wealth of knowledge to his role. Prior to joining CRMC, he served as Director of Operations at Jane Phillips Medical Center Ascension in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Brian is actively involved in both the healthcare field and the local community. He sits on the Kansas Hospital Association – Physician Leadership Committee, the Board of Health Works Foundation, and BancFirst, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Coffeyville. He also remains connected to his faith community as a member of Pathway Christian Church.

Brian holds an MHA from Oklahoma State University and a BBA from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. His leadership ensures that CRMC will continue to thrive, providing essential healthcare services to the region for generations to come.

Lisa Kuehn
Chief Operating Officer

Lisa Kuehn, MS, serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, where she brings a deep dedication to ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible for generations to come. Since joining CRMC in 2020, Lisa has been instrumental in leading efforts to expand services and maintain high standards of care across the organization. Her leadership is driven by a commitment to making healthcare not only effective but also compassionate and sustainable for the future.

Lisa’s dedication extends beyond CRMC, as she actively contributes to the healthcare landscape through her roles on the Kansas Hospital Association Policy and Advocacy Committee and the Montgomery County Action Council Board of Directors, where she has served since 2020. She is currently pursuing her FACHE (Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives) designation, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to professional growth and leadership in healthcare.

At home, Lisa and her husband Keith enjoy life on their farm in rural Dearing, where they have raised three amazing children. Her passion for community, family, and healthcare excellence reflects her vision of a healthcare system that will continue to serve and support future generations.

Jeff Morris
Chief Financial Officer

Jeff Morris serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, bringing decades of financial leadership experience from both local government and higher education. With a career that began in 1997, Jeff has a proven track record of managing complex financial operations, including his most recent role as Vice President for Operations and Finance at Coffeyville Community College (2012-2023). Prior to that, he served as Finance Director and City Manager for the City of Coffeyville, where he developed a deep understanding of fiscal responsibility and long-term financial planning.

Jeff’s dedication to ensuring CRMC remains financially sound is rooted in his commitment to serving the community. His strategic financial oversight plays a crucial role in maintaining the hospital’s ability to deliver quality healthcare, both now and in the future. His efforts focus on sustainability and growth, ensuring that CRMC is positioned to meet the healthcare needs of the region for generations to come.

A graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in accounting and marketing, Jeff has also earned a Mini Master of Public Administration from Wichita State University. He has served on numerous boards, including the Coffeyville Area Chamber of Commerce, Kansas Municipal Energy Agency, Kansas Municipal Utilities, and the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center Board. Currently, he serves on the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees at Coffeyville First Southern Baptist Church.

Outside of work, Jeff and his wife Dora, married for over 30 years, enjoy their time together as empty nesters. Jeff finds relaxation in woodworking, golf, and spending time outdoors on his pasture. His dedication to family, faith, and community reflects his commitment to ensuring the long-term financial health of CRMC.

Sarah Hoy, BSN, CPPS
Chief Nursing Officer

Sarah Hoy, RN, BSN, CPHRM, serves as the Chief Nursing Officer at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, where she is dedicated to nursing excellence and delivering high-quality patient care. With over 22 years of experience at CRMC, Sarah’s journey began in 2002 as a staff nurse in the emergency room and ICU. She later transitioned to the operating room as a full-time nurse. Her career evolved further when she became Director of Quality Improvement in 2011 and was later promoted to Senior Director of Quality Services and Process Improvement in 2016. In this role, Sarah played a pivotal part in leading CRMC to achieve state and national recognition for quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Sarah was promoted to Chief Nursing Officer in 2018, where she served since.

Sarah’s critical thinking and relentless focus on quality have been instrumental in creating an environment at CRMC that is both efficient and effective, ultimately enhancing patient care. Her leadership ensures that CRMC maintains the highest standards of care through safe, competent, and compassionate nursing practices. By fostering strong relationships within the nursing team, patient population, and the broader community, Sarah helps to drive a culture of excellence that empowers nursing leaders and staff to make patient-centered decisions.

As a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Sarah brings a wealth of expertise to her role, guiding CRMC through a rapidly changing healthcare landscape. Her commitment to equipping the nursing team for future transitions reflects her passion for building a healthcare environment that adapts to new challenges while remaining focused on providing exceptional care. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pittsburg State University and is an active member of the Kansas Association of Risk and Quality Managers, where she sits on the Board of Directors, as well as the Kansas Organization of Nurse Leaders.

Sandi Beree, BSHM, CMOM
Chief Administrative Officer

Sandi Beree is the Chief Administrative Officer at CRMC, where she oversees the CRMC Medical Group physicians and clinic operations, Business & Industry Health, CRMC contracts, Revenue Cycle Management, and Health Information Management. With 37 years of experience in healthcare, Sandi holds a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management and is certified in Medical Office Management.

Her career began in 1987 in the admissions department at Hillcrest Medical Center, followed by 25 years at Ascension St. John in Tulsa. After spending five years as a healthcare consultant, she has been with CRMC for the past five years.

Sandi has lived in Talala for the past 10 years with her husband, David. They have two children, both married, and four grandsons.

Lance Chickadonz
Chief Information Officer

Lance Chickadonz brings over 30 years of information technology experience, with 28 years dedicated to the healthcare sector. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Pittsburg State University, providing him with a solid foundation in both technical expertise and strategic leadership.

Throughout his career, Lance has been a driving force in technological innovation, improving operational efficiencies within healthcare organizations. He has led successful initiatives to implement electronic health records, optimize data management, and enhance cybersecurity measures, all while ensuring regulatory compliance.

A passionate advocate for leveraging technology to improve patient care, Lance is committed to fostering collaboration between clinical and IT teams. His vision includes adopting cutting-edge technologies and prioritizing user-friendly solutions that empower healthcare professionals and elevate the patient experience.

 

Charlene Paolini, RN, MSN
Senior Director of Nursing Services

Charlene Paolini, RN, MSN, is the Senior Director of Nursing Services at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, where she is dedicated to enhancing nursing services and improving patient care. Charlene joined CRMC in 2015 and has since made significant contributions across multiple areas, including Women’s Health, Labor and Delivery, Employee Health, Employee Education, Clinical Documentation Improvement, Case Management, and most recently as Director of Utilization Review. She has also been a clinical instructor for the nursing program at Coffeyville Community College and has a passion for nurse education.

She earned her Registered Nurse degree from Labette Community College in 2012 and went on to complete first her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and then subsequently her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education in 2017. Charlene’s deep commitment to advancing the nursing profession and her patient-centered approach have made her a key leader at CRMC, where she strives to ensure that nursing services continually evolve to meet the highest standards of care.

Charlene was born and raised in Coffeyville. She now resides in Independence with her husband and four dogs. She has two grown children. Charlene enjoys traveling and taking group trips with her family and friends.

Stephanie Richardson
Senior Director of Finance/Controller

Stephanie A. Richardson serves as the Senior Director of Finance/Controller at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, where her financial expertise and dedication help ensure the hospital’s financial stability. She began her career as a staff accountant and auditor for Diehl, Banwart, Bolton, Jarred & Bledsoe, Chtd. in Chanute and Fort Scott, Kansas, where she spent eight years conducting financial audits for municipalities, school districts, and non-profit organizations.

In 2001, Stephanie transitioned to the City of Coffeyville, taking on the role of City Treasurer. Her strong leadership and financial acumen led to her promotion to Director of Finance in 2003 and ultimately Director of Finance/Assistant City Manager in 2020. Her extensive experience in public finance and auditing has made her a key asset in ensuring financial transparency and efficiency at CRMC.

Stephanie earned her Associate of Science degree from Allen Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Pittsburg State University. She passed the CPA exam in 2000, solidifying her expertise in accounting and finance.

Deeply dedicated to the Coffeyville area, Stephanie and her husband Derek have been married for 27 years and have a daughter, Rylin, who attends Field Kindley High School. Outside of her professional role, Stephanie is actively involved in the community, volunteering at the Dalton Museum and Brown Mansion and helping with dance classes at R & S Studios. Her commitment to both CRMC and the local area reflects her dedication to ensuring the financial health of the hospital and the well-being of the community she calls home.

Andrew Schaper
Senior Director of Support Services

Andrew Schaper, MHA, is the Senior Director of Support Services at CRMC, bringing over 13 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Purdue Global University and has pursued advanced education in hazardous materials, the National Incident Management System (NIMS), and FEMA certifications (IS100, IS700), along with other facilities-related certifications.

At CRMC, where he has been for over four years, Andrew directs facilities functions, implements policies and safety procedures, and engages with vendors. His focus has been ensuring the facility remains compliant with DNV standards for life safety and regulatory compliance. Prior to CRMC, Andrew served as Director of Facilities and Safety Officer at McPherson Hospital and as Eastern Region Director of Facilities for Rochester Regional Health System in Newark, NY. Additionally, he has experience as a firefighter and lieutenant for the City of Independence Fire Department, bringing a wealth of knowledge in both healthcare and public safety to his role.

Melissa Summer
Senior Director of Business Development

Melissa Summer is the Senior Director of Business Development at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center (CRMC), where she leads initiatives that drive growth, foster partnerships, and play a pivotal role in physician recruitment. This focus on recruitment is essential to CRMC’s mission of achieving sustainable growth and creating a culture that provides work-life balance for physicians, ensuring they thrive while delivering top-quality care to the community.

Melissa brings a unique creative edge to her work as a trained graphic artist. Her ability to combine creativity with business knowledge has been an asset throughout her career, allowing her to develop innovative marketing programs and communications strategies. She holds a degree in Business from the University of Phoenix, which complements her practical experience and expertise in the healthcare field.

Melissa’s extensive background includes her role as Director of Communications, Government Relations, and Business & Industry Health at CRMC, as well as over 20 years of leadership experience at Aiken Regional Medical Centers (UHS) in South Carolina. She has a passion for women’s health and promotes self-care. Her dedication to giving back is reflected in her support of the CRMC Foundation and Tunnels to Towers.

Melissa and her husband, Joe, have been married for 40 years and have two grown children and two grandsons. They enjoy life on their farm west of Independence.

Shravan Gangula, MD
Chief of Staff

Dr. Shravan Gangula is a dedicated family medicine physician who brings 17 years of diverse experience to his practice. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Gangula prioritizes patient well-being and provides comprehensive family medicine services. His expertise covers preventative care, chronic disease management and acute illness treatment. Dr. Gangula serves as the Medical Director for Primary Care at CRMC. He is an advocate for both the patients and medical staff. Dr. Gangula is also the Medical Director for the Montgomery County Health Department.

Outside of caring for his patients, Dr. Gangula spends time with his family – this is very important to him. He also enjoys gardening.  “I was drawn to medicine because I wanted to help people feel better. It’s very rewarding when someone gets better as a result of their interaction with me.”
